“We migrated over 200,000 websites to Google Cloud Platform in 2 weeks, including 50,000 that are heavily trafficked and actively developed, and nobody noticed”

Huge congrats to the infrastructure team for this feat of engineering - we did a lift-n-shift of the entire platform to a new cloud provider. My role in the project was to oversee the biggest elite customer migrations. During the EU hours when traffic to the platform is lowest, I worked through a list of our high value sites and ran the migration tooling, ensuring all the processes completed successfully and taking any manual remediation steps that might have been required.
