My team built the backend infrastructure and API to support this brand new platform feature: site metrics in the dashboard. It was a challenge to get the API to be responsive, with results quickly available for customers to view. In the background we use a Go service running in Kubernetes, BigQuery, Fastly logs and some batch roll-up processes to ensure the data is fresh and ready to go.
