ICANN is the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, a client of ours at Four Kitchens.

In 2012, I was the lead backend engineer on the project team doing the migration of all of ICANN’s legacy content into Drupal. This was a big challenge, and a great accomplishment for our team to launch the new site on time and within budget.

ICANN’s site has HTML and document content going back to the 90’s, some translated into all of the UN languages including right-to-left flowing ones like Arabic. We setup an automated migration job and refined it over many months, importing and automatically filtering and fixing old content for import into Drupal (MySQL).
